Update from Team Australia

Amber and I wanted to send you a little update of how things are going Down Under.

As you may know, the week of leaving we weren’t sure of the specifics of where we were going to stay, but we have been completely taken care of, and we can see that the Lord has planned every single step of the way. We’ve been able to stay at Martha Parkinson’s house even though she’s been away on holiday, and Greg and Catherine have been here, feeding and transporting us and making sure we have open lines of communication. They have taken care of every possible necessity, including some before we even realized we had need. All this to say, we’ve been completely provided for through the generosity and hospitality of others, and because of this we are able to see that we are right where the Lord would have us.

As for ministry opportunities for the summer, we have been meeting intentionally and sometimes spontaneously with different teachers, pastors, and chaplains to figure out how we might best be in service with them. The opportunities range throughout Sydney, Central Coast, and Newcastle, and we have been blessed by seeing the ways that people here are serving the Lord’s kingdom. Greg, Catherine, and Tony Rae have imparted practical and spiritual wisdom about managing the logistics of a large group of travelers, and they all seem keen on having us come back. We want to begin praying for discernment now on which of these ministries to partner with in their efforts, as well as praying for a team to be built on our end.

We have also been able to see the fruits of FWC’s past efforts. We got a call from Wendy saying that a couple visiting Kauai from Sydney recognized Adam from when he came over to Australia in ’86. He had preached in their high school scripture class, and they are now scripture teachers who invited us to come speak in their schools.

Amber and I have been able to experience the Lord in different ways, and we find ourselves blessed by the trip. We are looking forward to watching this ministry continue to unfold.

Peace,

Tabitha and Amber
