The Ocean of Today…

Dear FWC Family and Friends:

I love the song, “Oceans” by Hillsong. We sing this song, and others like it, every week. It’s a beautiful declaration. By faith we’ve often sang and spoken these lyrics into existence to stand in whatever situation we were going through in that particular moment. Sometimes we sing because we believe and other times we sing until we believe. Often, God met us in our faith.

In this season, we are moving deeper in this prayer. Let’s allow the Spirit to lead us out beyond anything we thought possible. I encourage us to continue to keep the Lenten fast as we walk this season out. I’d also love to hear how Jesus is meeting you and how he is talking to you in that. Please consider posting videos and or written comments to the FWC Facebook page or here in the comments.

Bearing witness to the glory of God and his love is one the main “good works” we are to be about. Check out Eph. 2:1-10 especially. Our proclamation helps to integrate the faith that Christ is working in each of us. It builds and strengthens the Body. We are not to “fake” being strong. Rather, we are to step out in faith trusting the unseen mystery of Christ, and treating this as though it is so. Let’s not be in “wishful” thinking, but let us listen to the Spirit and notice the presence of our savior in the middle of our circumstances and declare it to one another.

Tomorrow we are gathering via Zoom to worship as a community. Please join us!

We get to continue to grow as a community. Life might get more difficult in the days ahead. I know for me, I’m curious how The Lord will shape our lives together – as a church and as individuals. I’m nervous like anyone else. But I’m also expectant to see how Jesus is and will show up in it all. Transformation is not comfortable. However, we are called to it. I want the transformation, but not the discomfort. In this season, I’m working to surrender my will and cling to Jesus. My hope and prayer is that each of us do this so that we will discover more truly the apostle Paul’s pray in Eph. 3:14-21:

“14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God.

20 Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.”

Thank you for being an amazing community and for living out this faith in incredible honesty and sincerity.

Peace,
Brad

Oceans
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep

My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
